Kicking off the new year with a project that reminds us why we love what we do. Recently, we had the opportunity to create a Meet the Founder film for Bactiquick — a science-led company doing exciting work in rapid water testing. This project combined storytelling, complex science communication, and brand filmmaking, all in one brief.

At Hill Tribe Media, we specialise in meet the founder video production, helping brands tell authentic stories through cinematic documentary-style filmmaking.

The Challenge

Bactiquick approached us with a clear objective, they wanted to introduce their founder and the story behind the company — but without producing “just another corporate interview”.

There were several creative challenges to overcome:

  • the science behind rapid bacterial testing is technically complex

  • the founder’s story needed to feel authentic and human, not scripted

  • the film had to appeal to investors, partners, and customers

  • visuals needed to go beyond “talking heads” and show process, purpose, and impact

  • the company wanted to signal innovation and credibility in a crowded market

In short, this wasn’t simply about pointing a camera and asking questions. The job was to translate unique science into a unique story, whilst keeping accuracy, warmth, and clarity intact.

Our approach to meet the founder video production

We built the film around one central idea:

Show the human being behind the science.

Rather than starting with technology, we began with motivation, mission, and real-world impact. From there, the scientific detail becomes a natural extension, not an obstacle.

Our approach included:

  • developing a narrative arc — why the company exists, what problem it solves, what drives the founder

  • filming in meaningful environments, including lab and real-world contexts

  • capturing natural conversation rather than scripted delivery

  • combining portrait-style founder storytelling with strong B-roll and product visuals

  • ensuring the scientific elements remained accurate, concise, and accessible

We also paid close attention to tone and pacing — the aim was warm, intelligent, and confident, not corporate or clinical.

Production Considerations

Science-based filmmaking brings extra layers of care. We worked closely with the team to ensure:

  • visuals matched correct laboratory process

  • no confidential IP or data was revealed

  • every claim and line of explanation was factually precise

  • language remained understandable without oversimplifying

We also used cinematic lighting and composition to elevate the film beyond standard corporate video, helping Bactiquick communicate not just what they do, but who they are as a brand.

The Result

The finished Meet the Founder film:

  • introduces the founder in an open, human way

  • clearly communicates why rapid water testing matters

  • builds trust and credibility with stakeholders

  • gives Bactiquick a versatile asset for website, presentations, and investor conversations

Most importantly, it tells a story.

That is always the goal for us at Hill Tribe Media, not just to produce video, but to produce meaningful narrative that connects people to ideas.

Looking ahead

This project is a great example of how thoughtful meet the founder video production can humanise complex science and help organisations connect more deeply with their audiences. If 2026 is about anything for us, it’s:

  • purpose-driven storytelling

  • helping science, tech, and healthcare brands communicate clearly

  • creating films where audiences don’t just see information — they feel the reason behind it

If your organisation is looking to:

  • introduce your founder,

  • humanise your brand story, or

  • bring complex science or technology to life on screen,

we’d love to talk.

Here's to an awesome 2026!
