AHOY there! Hill Tribe took to the seas to make a viral video for Plymouth University and its Marine Studies course. Assisted by the awesome Andrew Eccleston, Lecturer in Nautical Studies ( and who has sailed Sir Francis Chichester’s famous ‘Gipsy Moth VI’ round the world to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Chichester’s circumnavigation) and the fearsome Captain Bob (aka Captain Robert Hone, Lecturer in Marine Studies) we worked with a group of students who experienced a pretty rough time as we found ourselves battling with seriously stormy seas somewhere in the North Atlantic – and all without having to leave the School of Marine Science and Engineering! Thanks to the enthusiasm and top class efforts of all those involved, we were able to show off the Transas Simulator – just one of the many facilities the School features.
