About Us

Hill Tribe Productions is a creative and friendly web, TV and video production company based in South West England but operates nationwide, producing film, video and media content for clients across the UK and abroad.

We are made up of a core group of people who understand and fully appreciate the power of visual media. Our belief comes from experience: together we amass over 30 years of experience working in broadcast television, corporate films, commercials and digital platforms including IPTV and web video productions.

For us, it’s not just about the pictures – it’s about really listening to what our clients want. We are proud that we pay careful attention to our clients and take the time to understand what they want to achieve, so that we deliver an outstanding and effective product every single time.

It also helps that we’re a relatively small company — so you’ll have a one-to-one point of contact and relationship with a member of the team throughout the production.

Robbie – MD & Creative Director

Robbie has been involved in Television and Video Production since he left school.

From the age of 18, he worked his way up through the ranks from runner and tea-boy to researching, assistant producing, directing and series producing.  He has worked on two Royal Television Society Award winning series and has been nominated for a further two.  Thanks to his extensive work experience, not only does he make truly great films but he also makes a cracking cup of tea.

Hill Tribe is his realisation of a life long ambition.

Suzie – Head of Production/Social Media

Suzie has vast work experience across several media sectors, working in print, broadcast and digital platforms.

As well as working on TV commercial and a number of television series in a variety of roles that include fixer, researcher, producer and production manager, she is keen on maximising the potential of social media and advocates its integration into digital platforms to support products and services. She is very good at worrying, which we think helps to make her such a good producer, and is also known for her work as a motoring writer. She puts her way with words to good use at Hill Tribe as our Chief Tweeter!

Steve – Development

Steve has had a passion for visual media and the arts for as long as he can remember.

His dedication and passion for videography and photography has not gone unnoticed either, and his talent has been recognised through winning awards such as The Observer’s Young Photographer Of The Year. He has worked across both print and broadcast industries in various roles of production but when he’s not doing that he likes climbing cliffs and mountains – we think it’s for the views, because when it comes to having vision in the development process – no one does it better than Steve.

Jamie

Jamie – Camera / Director

Jamie is a freelance cameraman/director who works closely with Hill Tribe Productions.

Vastly experienced, his work encompasses a wide variety of topics from filming at Le Mans Endurance to Easy Cruise and the BBC’s Through Hell and High Water documentary. He’s a genius behind the lens and loves using the latest technology and equipment available in the industry. On the rare occasions he’s not behind the lens, he plays football and then frets about his sore knees afterwards.

Janya – Asian Pacific Director

Sawadee-ka.
Nobody knows the Asian market like Janya. With an impressive contacts book and considerable business experience  which she has accrued since childhood, Janya is in charge of identifying new markets and trends and is based at our Asian office. She brings plenty of smiles, good recommendations for duck noodle soup and plenty of good fortune to the team.
We are very happy to have her as part of our tribe!
